ORNAP Zamboanga Chapter hailed as the best local chapter in the Philippines
By: Randolf P. Garcia
It’s been on its seven years of existence and 3 years I have spent as an officer. Never have I thought that I will witness it during my term that the ORNAP Zamboanga Chapter will be recognized as the Best chapter in the Philippines.
Seven years is still young in an organizational life. It is merely a toddler as compared to the more organized chapters in the Philippines. ORNAP Zamboanga Chapter was established on October 28, 2005 under the guidance of Mrs. Ma. Bella Tandoc with 80 members and it has been continuously growing since then. Just this year alone an additional 149 members was added and 8 applied for a lifetime membership status. In a city with only a population of about a million and includes less than a dozen hospitals, the growth of the members is significant. Zamboanga chapter does not only include Zamboanga city itself but also caters the neighbouring provinces and cities such as Dipolog, Pagadian, Basilan and Jolo. Read more

ORNAP Zamboanga's Regional Convention
Dickson R. Miciano, R.N.
While me and Ms. Marilyn Aro were waiting at the airport to board for our flight to Zamboanga city for the chapter's Regional Convention and Scientific Meeting, Honorable Leonila Faire came minutes before check-in counters was close. According to her she had only few hours of sleep because she went back to Manila from Cagayan de Oro after attending the PNA's annual convention.
A huge tarpaulin hanged at Zamboanga airport's facade caught my attention greeting everyone, "BIENVENADEZ ZAMBOANGA". There, we were welcomed by Zamboanga chapter's president Ms. Bella Tandoc and Ms. Eva Relao. They take us to our hotel for a short rest then we went to Rigodon Ballroom of Hacienda de Palmeras in Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City for the two day convention. The convention was attended by close to two hundred participants from different places in the region.Read more
