GIFT GIVING 2009
Charles Wayne N. Andino, R.N.
The yuletide season is fast approaching, in line of this wonderful event, the Operating Room Nurses Association of the Philippines (ORNAP) Inc. held its annual gift giving activity. The chosen recipient for this year is the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC). Nearly 80 pediatric patients all over the hospital received assorted toys to brighten up the spirit of the young boys and girls admitted during Christmas time. It gives them hope and the strength to get well soon. It is definitely the best time to bring out smiles as we remember our less fortunate brothers and sisters this time of the year. This event is a part of the organization’s social commitment and community outreach. The event took place last December 9,2009 in the different pediatric units at the EAMC. Included is the oncology, surgical, intensive care, medical and orhopedic units. The gift giving activity began with a courtesy call to the EAMC’s Director Dr. Roland Cortez. He expressed his outmost gratitude to the organization for choosing EAMC as this year’s recipient.
The activity was headed by the ORNAP’s ever dearest President, Ms. Cathline D. Avellano, R.N., together with the ORNAP officers, Vice-President: Ms. Flor P. Burgos, R.N., M.A.N., Ed. D., Secretary: Redenta C. Mamaclay, R.N., Treasurer: Ma. Cecilia G. Gatchalian, R.N., Asst. Treasurer: Maricar M. De Paz, R.N., Auditor: Eugene Camello, R.N., PRO: Rosario P. Aquino, R.N., and ORNAP Board Members: Charles Wayne N. Andino, R.N., Romeo E. Santarina, R.N. and Gary A. Liberal, R.N. The event started at around 1pm.
