A “Time Out” outside the Operating Room

Monitoring of vital signs, administration of IV fluids and medications, preparing and putting patients to safety, assisting surgeons in the different operations and procedures, taking care of instruments…

These are but some of OR nurses’ duties and responsibilities evolving to a greater beyond. Conventional. Almost. But, for the Nueva Vizcaya OR nurses through the leadership of Ms. Clelia B. Alejandro (Ma’am Cleng), in the midst of the challenges and opportunities in Perioperative Nursing field, offers an avenue to maximize their potentials through participating artistically in dances of numerous sorts.

This, as ORNAP Nueva Vizcaya Chapter, contracts to give way to globalization, redefines traditional roles and functions, and joins the quest for a healthier future while having “time out” in the form of dancing. Spending quality time rehearsing, nurse dancers bond more closely together and thereby release their stress and tension. They even get chance to be invited to different local gatherings and events showcasing their humble talents.

This “time out” for Novo Vizcayano nurses from their exhausting routine in the OR, serves as therapy on mind and body as they respond with vigor pursuant to their institution’s vision.

There are various worth of “time out.” Theirs is just one.
